This is our first work for a Berlin client. For this soundtrack we made use of our ever growing library of self recorded and processed sounds. Plenty of material has been created from London Underground recordings - the Tube is a rich source for a wide variety of noises, odd rhythms, drones, and the like. We also recorded male and female voices, then processed and meticulously edited them to create the voice fragments bouncing around the sound track. In addition, we used various synth sounds to add melody and harmony. The final master was mixed in Dolby Surround, which makes this our first surround sound project! As well as our first national cinema release (Germany).
"The soundtrack... serves as the driving force behind the images, structuring with harsh and abstract sounds and signals the rhythm of the urban scenes while accompanying the eye shots with meditative chimes. Starting in March 2004 the two image trailers “City Life” and “Mix” will be shown on 600 cinemas screens all over Germany."
